“I would like to share a few thoughts about my friend, my “brother”, Jake Huff. I first met Jake about 40 years ago, when he was directing a large church choir (which he’s very good at). 

Jake is highly intelligent, highly motivated, diligent, responsible, and consistent. All of these qualities were easily discernible as I sang in choirs directed by Jake and as we had interactions in church meetings and assignments.

Beyond these, I learned as I watched Jake care for his beloved late wife, that he has a true Servant’s heart, full of compassion, kindness, and a willingness to sacrifice HIS wants for the needs of another.

As serving and sacrificing refines the soul and strengthens character traits, I can attest that Jake is possessed of a wonderful blend of the characteristics that I personally would like to see in ALL of our elected or appointed individuals.

He is funny without being mean or cutting, self deprecating, devoid of any drive to satisfy his ego, and in my opinion, represents exactly the type of individual that the Framers of the Constitution were desperately hoping would populate our elected offices: “Ordinary” citizens that saw issues with the way things were being managed and who sacrificed their own time and resources to step into public life and strive to make things better. 

Jake is a strict textual Constitutionalist, and an actual righteous man who has set aside the carnality and self seeking that far too many of our purported representatives have adopted.
